<p>How to prepare for a Hysteroscopy procedure.</p> <p>What is it? Hysteroscopy is an outpatient procedure that visually examines the uterine cavity and provides tissue for the microscopic examination of the lining of the uterine cavity.</p> <p>How is it performed? It is usually performed in the office and without anesthesia. First, fluid gently distends the uterine cavity. Next, a camera is introduced. Finally, a small amount of tissue is removed.</p> <p>How long does it take? The actual procedure takes about 15 minutes.</p> <p>How to schedule? Please contact the office via email or phone call to schedule.</p> <p>How do you prepare for a hysteroscopy? Hysteroscopy is best done after your menstrual period and before ovulation. We can help you with the planning</p> <ol> <li>A pain killer (like 600mg of ibuprofen OR 1000mg of paracetamol) may be taken 30 minutes before the procedure.</li> <li>Dress in loose comfortable clothing. We will provide you with sanitary pads which you may need for possible watery/bloody discharge after the procedure.</li> <li>During the procedure, take a deep breath and relax.</li> <li>You may return to work afterward.</li> <li>Avoid a bath, tampon, or sexual intercourse 24 hours following the procedure.</li> </ol>

<h3>How to Prepare for a Sperm Analysis Test</h3> <p>A sperm test is an imperfect microscopic examination of the sperm cells. The quality of the sample, the number, motility, and morphology of the sperm cells are also examined.</p> <p>Before the test:</p> <ul> <li>Schedule during the lightest part of your week</li> <li>Avoid alcohol, cigarettes, and marijuana use within 5 days of your appointment</li> <li>You should cancel if you have the flu or COVID infection within 5 days of your appointment</li> <li>Avoid sexual intercourse or masturbation within 3 days of your appointment but not longer than 5 days before your appointment. If not, the results of your test will be negatively affected</li> <li>Make sure you have 2 sample containers.
